For the 💙 of Fishing: Announcing our FY21 Impact Report & Match Opportunity!

Updated: May 5, 2022

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of Alaska Marine Conservation Council, I’m honored to present you with our most recent Impact Report: For the Love of Fishing in which you can read about the latest successes we’ve accomplished together.

With your generous support, you helped AMCC:

  • Achieve a major advancement in our efforts to address the Bering Sea halibut bycatch crisis

  • Increase economic opportunities for stewardship-minded harvesters and processors in Alaska - to the tune of over $1,000,000 in the past four years alone

  • Advance critical strategies to protect the resilience of marine ecosystems in the face of the climate crisis and ocean acidification

  • And much more!

We also highlight a few of the many people and partners, like you, who’ve helped AMCC advance our vision. You’ll meet our featured Ocean Guardian Pete Wedin and learn what - or more accurately, who! - inspires his long standing commitment to our mission. You’ll hear from the Carpenters, one of the amazing fishing families we work with, about why they value their partnership with Catch 49. Finally, you’ll read the names of more than 250 individuals, businesses, foundations, artists and allies who share our concern for Alaska's oceans and wild fisheries and the ways of life they sustain.

After reading this report, if you are inspired to contribute to AMCC to help us keep up our momentum, we’d be grateful. Thanks to the generosity of the Nell Newman Foundation, now through May 23, all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000 - to help us achieve our $10,000 Spring fundraising goal!

Thank you again for inspiring us and joining us. We could not do this important work without you!

With Gratitude,

Marissa Wilson Executive Director
