Dear Friends, When AMCC reaches out to you with a call to action, we are committed to reporting back the results of that outreach. To that end, I wanted to share one last update on our year-end fundraising effort and a huge THANK YOU to all of you who responded to our call. We asked you to help us achieve our $20,000 goal and we’re honored to say that 126 of you helped us surpass that by $3,177! The support of our individual donors is essential for us to continue advocating for meaningful bycatch reductions, ensure that fishing livelihoods contribute to the vibrancy of Alaska's coastal communities, empower the next generation of sustainably-minded fishermen to shape their futures, and address emerging needs as they arise. Every one of you who donated will be acknowledged in our next annual report. We also want to take a moment to recognize those who made our $7000 match challenge possible including John & Rika Mouw, Koteff Accounting Group, Dave Theriault, Steve & Danielle Williams and Bob Bundy & Bonnie Lembo (who you’ll read about below). We’re also grateful to Diane Briggs for donating her amazing painted buoy creation.
I can’t say it enough, we are grateful to have the support of such a generous group of folks who understand why it is imperative that we continue advocating for coastal Alaska. Thank you again for your inspired fortitude.
Marissa Wilson Executive Director
P.S. Congratulations to Wenona Suydam—the winner of Diane’s painted buoy!
Ocean Guardians AMCC’s work is made possible thanks to the support of many hardworking and caring individuals, businesses and foundations who share with us a concern for the health of our oceans and wild fisheries and the ways of life they sustain.
Bob Bundy & Bonnie Lembo Anchorage, Alaska
Bob and Bonnie have called Alaska home for 50 years. They met here, married and raised their daughters here. Now their grandchildren live here too. Bob and Bonnie consider themselves lucky to have experienced so many of the wonders of Alaska and its marine environments. One or both of them has traveled to nearly every part of our amazing state for work or adventure—including its coastal communities. They support AMCC because they want to contribute to sustaining the beauty and resources they have had the privilege to witness. Bob shares: “As a former Alaska Conservation Foundation board member, I watched AMCC grow over the years. Bonnie and I believe that AMCC's important and innovative work in preserving sustainable livelihoods for Alaskans is critical to keeping Alaska a place our children and grandchildren can love as much as we do.” We cannot thank Bob and Bonnie enough for their unwavering support. Please help bolster their investment in our vision by making a gift today!
